This biggest issue I have with offer up is that there is NO option to remove-erase a conversation in the activity menu? Hiding does not remove it. I sometimes let friends and family view OfferUp on my phone if their phone is not near by and I don't always want them seeing what I ordered or talked about. They can easily read any of the topics I've hidden simply by clicking the bottom of the activity list unless you log out every time. This is ridiculous. This is a Major privacy issue. There are countless posts across the net of people who are searching Google for this same answer but all the solutions coming from OfferUp's site pertain to hiding, not actually removing the conversations indefinitely. They need to give their users more control over privacy. They also need to make their website function like the app also, it's *** to only have an app, I have most of my pictures of my computer and I have to keep transferring them. There is nothing that makes a phone more safe than a computer. Phone's are even more risky because they usually lack the filters that browsers like Firefox easily let users implement as extensions.

People are tired of contacting OfferUp about features that should have already been implemented. I find it difficult to believe that they are that *** to not have such a feature, so the only alternative is to think that their agenda is not in the best interest of their user's privacy. If there is an option however, it should NOT be this difficult to find in the App.

As far a safety regarding scammers, there's not much they can do about that. It's the users responsibility to meet somewhere safe like a police station or populated mall outside..ect. But they need to give their users more control over their content in the app and conversations.

But the other thing that really turned me off about this app is the fact that they want to charge you to bump your post up again? What good is it if your spending money to bumping something that's not moving and will end up costing your most to bump then what you're asking for it..lol

Reason of review: Not letting users delete conversations in activity menu.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Location: Murrieta, California

Canโ€™t delete conversations no one should be invading privacy by junk messages or robo calls. If they canโ€™t fix it they will lose in the long run: trust!

Offer Up needs a new ceo or manager of all activities. The one is a taking consumers for granted at manipulating markets under control.

He doesnโ€™t care lol. Offer up is all about money making. Value comes second as a filler.

Useless app it doesnโ€™t explain that you canโ€™t delete conversations and people have the right to do so if it doesnโ€™t have any good benefits. I see conflicts due to this disorientated app. Consumers can screenshot by using common sense on IPhone we live in age of digital technology information and choices in all fields so this is how scam emails come to us.

This is one of too many issues that "scoffer up" ignores.

OfferUp does not let you delet activity because the sell your buying preferences and personal data so you will be targeted with junk mailers and robo calls. Itโ€™s big money for OfferUp, a gold mine actually.

Thatโ€™s why they donโ€™t charge you to use it. They make bank selling your information.

Offer Up isnโ€™t helping with keeping privacy. Itโ€™s their job to monitor and delete posts. If itโ€™s going against their guidelines.

I agree offer up needs to have a delete button.

Offer up doesnโ€™t even know privacy has a down line to it for them. Deleting posts should be enabled for this app. We arenโ€™t retarded to fill in the missing gap.

I have been using Offerup for sometime in conjunction to other similar apps.I do agree, albiet it is a nice tool... it does LACK Privacy, and does not take it into account - for this...

I am planning to stop using it as well.It may not seem like a big deal to the developer. However, its just that - they develop without security in mind - which only produces a poor quality product.

There are many other similar apps that provide simple security measures. Offerup, should be more like Offerdown....

Guest

I agree . Need to be able to delete. It also takes up to much memory on phones

Guest

I agree with everyone. Past conversations should have away to delete. Only because it clears the screen from past conversations.

Why do you hand out your phone to your friends and family if you're so worried they'll see what you've bought in the past? If you need to live so secrective don't hand your phone out. Easy solution.

I believe the subject of being able to delete conversations was more towards sold items not purchased items. I feel sorry you felt you had to respond in a sarcastic way especially since you did not fully understand the content of the question.

Donโ€™t hand your phone out when itโ€™s reported scam callers are bothering you that they need to keep you awake at night is unreliably fixed. You donโ€™t have bright ideas. Get a education!
