OfferUp - Review in Auctions and Internet Stores category from Morro Bay, California
So just got scammed.. I was selling my guitar for $200 and a lady told me to email her aunt because she would buy it from me.
The lady's name is Luvenia Hettie she was emailing me about how she was going to send me a check and she did but it was an awfully large check and I was a little suspicious why she gave me that much. I emailed her (luveniasehettie@***.com) and she was telling me how most of the money on the check was going to a guy named Nathan and once those funds have been made out of the account the man would come to my address and pick up the guitar. So I thought it was all legit and I was sure she was real. Until she started bothering me about how I needed to go to Walmart and do things about the money and give it to Nathan?
Idk it was all weird.
So I went to my bank and they said it was a scam. So please if you are selling something and the buyer gives you MORE than what you asked for it is a scam don't deposits or cash out the check!

The same thing Just happened to me with the same person .Her e-mail is the same .I have not received her check yet .So now that I have read this post I will chalk it up to a scam. Thank you for taking the time to post your dealing with this person. People like her need to be held accountable .
and she is still at ait....
I got same message for my Facebook listing for selling an item. I am glad that i looked it here. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for all the comments, as she tried to buy an $800 antique railroad table from me the same way. I told her cash and carry only.
She just messaged me through a Facebook account Isabella something. She said email the address above (luveniasehettie@***.com) and then blocked me.
I guess not to be able to report her later. She's in a Chicago Buy and Sell group.
Haha yeah it didnโt sound right to me either. She didnโt want to meet up to exchange cash so i seen something was up.
Did you guys send her your address?
If so has anything happened since then? I gave her my parents address and donโt want anyone showing up there
I just got one from her too...Same story about the aunt wanting them, but then in another email saying she would send a certified check with an extra $50, if I would go ahead and take the ad off OfferUp.
This also just happened to me. Same name.
Asking for a dress I was selling. Thank you for posting this.
That is true luvenia Hettie don't touch her she was supposed to buy my speakers she was supposed to be giving me so much and for me to send the rest to a moving company which doesn't exist told me to send the money to them and after the bank clears the money and give it to u,but here is the kicker the next day it gets returned to ur bank and u have to replace the money and they get their money and u in the negative, trust me anything too good to be true is always just that
She just tried to gig me too. Glad I looked it up.
I wish I had known it's too late for me
What happened?
Lmao. Someone is new to the internet.

I really want to laugh at you. This is the most generic and obvious scam.
