I am seeing this all over the web lately. My story is the same.

I didn't do anything wrong. I had my account for a year and half. Had 300+ followers , 150+ 5star reviews. Then from left field, without rhyme or reason, they banned me.

Confused and concerned, I figured I would try to find out why. After 5 emails they finally responded with a template email saying that I had violated marketplace and my account was removed. 4 more emails later asking them to specify as to my infraction, they sent another template email with a nice add on of saying they noticed I sent more than one email regarding this matter and that they combined my tickets for my convenience. And then stock reply, I violated marketplace.

They won't be specific, there is no rebuttal. This is a chicken *** way to run a company. I built a successful entrepreneurship based primarily on offerup. Only to have them threaten my livelihood without just cause, and without the sense of ethical responsibility they have inherited through their success.

I can assume without doubt that if ebay or Amazon tried this they would be quick to correct the error for fear of reprisals. And essentially this is the same type of company invented marketplace. Luckily however, we live in America, and we actually do have a recourse. I am currently pursuing legal action against this company and I'm starting to feel that perhaps a class action may be in order.

They took it upon themselves to create a marketplace. By doing so they become ethically obligated to mediate their venue as a legitimate and legal entity. This comes with responsibilities whether they like it or not.

People deserve better. If anyone else is interested pls email me at Th3.pl2oph1t@***.com

Reason of review: Poor Ethical Practices.

Monetary Loss: $40000.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

OfferUp Cons: Great until unsubstantiated removal.

Location: Woodridge Building, 1715 114th Ave SE, Bellevue, WA 98004, USA

Grow up, idiot. You are the type of people who have *** up OfferUp and the rest of the world with your counter-racist *** I do not know how many times retards like you have played the race card because I would not agree to their insulting offers for my items or even threaten to rob my store.

Get a job or acquire some balls like the OP and create your own business instead of living off the rest of society's tax dollars while trolling on legitimate posts.

Or....you could really grow some balls and try to rob a store like mine and die in the process. Good riddance and good bye.

"By doing so they become ethically obligated to mediate their venue as a legitimate and legal entity."

It means they should be held accountable to the ethical practices that any other business, be it e-commerce or traditional businesses are held to. This means equal and fair practices regardless of race, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, etc, and to be regulated by the Department of Consumer Affairs

They did the same to me. I relied on this app for the last year supporting my small business.

Was banned without notice and told my item was prohibited.

After I stated my case and gave them evidence my items were in compliance they then made up a story that I had duplicated accounts which was rubbish. Class action suit sounds like the only way to make them accept a little responsibility for ruining people's livelihoods.
